 FEATURED GUEST SPEAKER: Umut Acar, Consul General Turkey

 Educated in Ankara, Mr. Acar started his career at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998 and has previously served as the head of the Department for Administrative and Financial Affairs (2013-14) and Chief of Cabinet of the Minister (2014-15). In October 2015 he began working in his current position as Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Chicago.

InterGenMUN (InterGernerational Model UN) is the UN Association’s annual interactive community event that gives Chicagoans a chance to see how the UN works and fill the shoes of a UN Delegate for a day! This unique experience will offer the chance for community members of all ages and experience levels to participate in a simulation to understand and appreciate the world of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making.

  • No experience is needed to participate. We invite all experience levels and backgrounds – it’s what makes InterGenMUN unique!
  • All participants who purchase tickets by Monday, November 5th will receive their country brief and materials by end of day on Wednesday, November 7th. All others will receive their material Friday, November 9th.
