“An Inconvenient Sequel” Film Screening and Reception
About “An Inconvenient Sequel“
In the follow up to An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes – in moments both private and public, funny and poignant – as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and facilitated an insightful day at “An Inconvenient Sequel” Film Screening and Reception!
The topic of the day, improving our education and awareness, was Climate Action, Global Goal 13, including discussion on integrating climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning, as well as improving human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation and impact reduction.
At the reception, we met with representatives from other local organizations with like-minded causes. Sierra Club Chicago, Eco-Justice Collaborative, Climate Reality Project, and more were represented to talk about climate action.
Even thought the United States government has withdrawn officially from the Paris Agreement, we are proud to say that Chicago will remain committed to and adopt the guidelines of the agreement here in the city.
“The world is depending on cities in the US to take up the mantle of leadership on climate change. Chicago is accepting that challenge.” -Mayor Rahm Emanuel
